Writing About Incomplete Tasks Before Bedtime May Help You Fall Asleep Easily

A study published in the American Psychological Association's Journal of Experimental Psychology suggests that writing a to-do list (about incomplete tasks) before bedtime can help you fall asleep easily. Researchers divided 57 young (18 to 30) participants into two groups and gave each a writing task before their bedtime. One group was assigned to write about tasks that they needed to remember to complete the next few days (to-do list) and the other group was assigned to write about tasks they had already completed the previous few days (completed list). Participants who wrote about incomplete tasks (to-do list) fell asleep significantly faster than those who wrote about completed tasks.
