Most People Drink Alcohol To Cope With The Pressures of Day To Day Life

A 2017 survey of more than 6,000 adults in the UK aged between 18 and 75 conducted by Drinkaware reveals that almost 3 in 5 (58%) of all people who drink alcohol are doing so because it helps them to cope with the pressures of day to day life. According to the study, 38% of men and women said they drink alcohol to forget their problems, 47% said they used to drink to cheer themselves up when in a bad mood, 41% said it helps when they feel depressed or nervous, and 58% of people approved drinking as a best way to cope with the pressures of day to day life.
