Eligible Men Are Kidnapped And Forced to Marry At Gunpoint in Bihar

Usually in a traditional marriage function you would probably see the bride crying. What if someone walks up to the groom and wipes his tears ? This was happened with Vinod Kumar, a 29-year-old junior manager in Bokaro Steel Plant, who had been kidnapped, roughed up and forced to marry a girl at gunpoint on the outskirts of Patna. This phenomenon of forcibly marrying off eligible young men is called 'pakadua biyaah', and was very common in the 1980s in Bihar.
